What Is Liquid PU Membrane?
Liquid applied polyurethane (PU) waterproofing forms a continuous, joint-free barrier — eliminating the weakest point of any waterproofing system: laps and joints. For Dubai’s conditions — 50°C+ roof temperatures, intense UV, and significant thermal movement — liquid PU membranes deliver outstanding performance.

Application Methodology
Substrate Assessment
Concrete inspected for cracks, voids, and moisture. Surface moisture below 4% required. Cracks ≥0.3mm routed and filled with PU sealant before membrane.
Surface Preparation
Mechanical preparation — shot blasting or grinding to CSP 3. Dust removed with compressed air.
Primer Application
Compatible PU primer applied at 0.2–0.3 kg/m². Allow full dry before membrane — 2 hours at 35°C.
Detailing — Upstands & Penetrations
All upstands, drains, pipes, and penetrations detailed with polyester reinforcing fabric embedded in first coat — minimum 300mm onto field.
Membrane Application — Two Coats
First coat at half DFT. Second coat perpendicular to first — minimum 1.5mm total. Holiday test with spark tester on completion.
UV-Stable Topcoat
Aliphatic PU or acrylic topcoat applied over cured membrane. Light-reflective colour reduces thermal gain.
