GRP Panel Tank
Installation
Modular Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic Panel tanks for potable water, fire water, and process water storage lightweight, corrosion-free, and site-assembled for any capacity from 1 m³ to 3,000 m³.
What Is a GRP Panel Tank?
GRP panel tanks are modular water storage vessels assembled from factory-manufactured glass fibre reinforced plastic panels, bolted together on site to form leak-free tanks of any required capacity. Each panel is produced under controlled factory conditions using matched-die compression moulding or hand lamination, delivering consistent material properties, dimensional accuracy, and a smooth internal surface that resists biofilm growth and bacterial colonisation.
The modular panel system allows tanks of virtually any rectangular footprint and height to be assembled, extended, or relocated on site providing capacity flexibility that is impossible with pre-formed GRP or concrete vessels. ESA Technical Services supplies, installs, and commissions GRP panel tanks for potable water, fire suppression, cooling tower make-up, sewage holding, and process water applications across the UAE and GCC.
Water Storage Applications
- Potable water storage for residential towers, hotels, and commercial buildings
- Fire water break tanks and sprinkler system header tanks
- Cooling tower make-up water and condenser water storage
- Sewage collection and grey water holding tanks
- Chemical dosing and process water storage for industrial facilities
- Irrigation water storage for landscaping and agriculture
- Emergency water reserves and civil defence storage tanks
Supply, Delivery & Assembly
Design & Engineering
Tank capacity, footprint, and configuration designed to client specification. Structural calculations prepared per BS 4994 / EN 13121. Panel layout and fitting schedule issued for approval.
Factory Manufacture
GRP panels manufactured under ISO 9001 quality management. Each panel batch tested for glass content, laminate thickness, water absorption, and flexural strength before dispatch.
Base Preparation
Concrete base slab constructed (or inspected if existing) to specified flatness and load-bearing capacity. Anti-vibration pads installed where required.
Panel Assembly
Panels erected and bolted together using stainless steel fasteners. All joints sealed with food-grade EPDM or NBR gaskets. Internal tie rods installed at calculated centres.
Inlet / Outlet & Fittings
All inlet, outlet, overflow, drain, and manhole penetrations installed. WRAS-approved fittings used for potable water service. Float valve and level indicator fitted as specified.
Pressure Test & Commissioning
Completed tank filled and held at full service level for 24 hours. All joints inspected for seepage. Water quality sample taken for potable water tanks before handover.

Why Choose GRP Panel Tanks
Corrosion-Free Service Life
GRP is inherently non-corrosive and requires no internal or external coating, cathodic protection, or periodic re-lining — unlike steel or concrete alternatives.
Potable Water Safe
Food-grade resin systems and internal gel coat surfaces are certified to BS 6920 and WRAS for contact with potable water throughout the design life.
Fully Modular & Expandable
Panel-based design allows tanks to be extended at any time by adding additional panel bays — capacity can grow with demand without replacing the existing structure.
Lightweight & Easy to Install
GRP panels are lightweight compared to concrete or steel alternatives, reducing structural slab requirements and enabling installation in constrained roof or basement locations.
Smooth Interior — Low Biofilm Risk
Factory-moulded gel coat interior surface inhibits bacterial colonisation and biofilm growth, supporting water quality compliance with Dubai DEWA / Abu Dhabi standards.
Insulation Compatible
External insulation cladding can be applied at installation or as a later upgrade — maintaining water temperature for chilled water, thermal storage, or cold climate applications.
