Cementitious
Waterproofing
Systems
Flexible and rigid cementitious waterproofing for water tanks, swimming pools, basements, and wet areas across Dubai and UAE.
INTRODUCTION
Cementitious waterproofing is the preferred system for water-retaining structures: potable water tanks, swimming pools, fire fighting reservoirs, STP tanks, and below-grade basements. It bonds integrally with concrete, is breathable, and meets potable water contact certification requirements when correctly specified.
| System Type | Two-Component Polymer-Modified Cementitious |
| Flexible System — Elongation | ≥ 50% (EN ISO 527) |
| Minimum DFT | 1.5mm (2 coats) wet areas; 2.0mm water tanks |
| Bond Strength (concrete) | ≥ 1.0 MPa (EN 1542) |
| Water Impermeability | Pass — 7 bar, 72 hours (EN 12390-8) |
| Potable Water Suitability | Approved formulations for drinking water contact |
| Full Cure Before Water Fill | 7 days standard; 28 days potable water contact |
| Standard | EN 1504-2, ASTM C1116, DIN 18195 |
Application Methodology
Surface Preparation
All loose material, laitance, and contamination removed. Cracks, holes, and honeycombs repaired. Corners chamfered. Surface saturated surface dry (SSD) before application.
Critical Joint Treatment
All construction joints, cracks, and pipe penetrations sealed with elastomeric sealant or hydrophilic swelling strip before membrane application.
First Coat Application
Mixed product applied by stiff brush in scrubbing motion to penetrate surface porosity. Coverage: 1.2–1.5 kg/m² per coat.
Second Coat Application
Second coat applied perpendicular to first — ensuring full coverage with no pinholes. Total minimum DFT verified by wet film gauge.
Curing & Water Testing
Membrane protected from direct sun for 24 hours. Water fill test after minimum 7 days cure — zero leakage required.
